چکیده

This paper examines the work undertaken in the UK Alvey funded project IPSE from the point of view of the approach taken to the development of the core sys tem It outlines the reasoning which led to the decision to base the system on a active process core rather than the more traditional approaches which have tended to support an entity derived model It gives a brief overview of the project with an emphasis on the notion of a Pro cess Control Engine It outlines the basic concepts behind the Process Modelling Language PML and the Process Model for Management Support PMMS with particu lar attention being paid to the representation of process change during the execution of a process model It then illustrates the approach using a case study of an active process

An Integrated Baseline Geodatabase for Facilitating the Environmental Impact Assessment Process: Case Study of Sabalan Geothermal Project, Iran

Baseline data represent one of the important stages of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure that describes the existing environment of the study area and surrounding areas in enough detail to allow the environmental impacts of the proposed area to be accurately and adequately assessed, and future changes and effects can be measured. Baseline data may be inaccurate, difficult to obtai...

Linking Architecture Models and Synthetic Environments - An Integrated Project Support Environment

Large System Integration (LSI) and Systems of Systems (SoS) present difficult systems engineering challenges due to complexity and emergent behaviour. There is a high risk of project failure unless systems complexity is addressed at an early stage, before systems implementation. Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) addresses systems complexity through approaches such as architectural modellin...

A Critical Review of the Current State of IPSE Technology

In the past ten years there has been a great deal of interest in the concept of an Integrattd Project Support Environment (IPSE) as a complete, unifying framework of services supporting most (or all) phases of software development and maintenance. In this paper we evaluate the current state of research work in this area, suggest some reasons for the relative lack of success, and make proposals ...

A Bayesian model decision support system: dryland salinity management application

Addressing environmental management problems at catchment scales requires an integrated modelling approach, in which key bio-physical and socio-economic drivers, processes and impacts are all considered. Development of Decision Support Systems (DSSs) for environmental management is rapidly progressing. This paper describes the integration of physical, ecological, and socio-economic components i...
